Mission:

The Whole Elephant Chinese Charter School (WECCS) carries out the mission to establish an innovative education system which integrates the most frontier science of the West with the ancient science of mind-body-spirit from the East, with a goal to bring out the Master within each child whose unique passion and talent will be cultivated to blossom and whose mind will be cultivated to reach true maturity with great wisdom of human life and the universe. 

Description of Academic Program:

Dr. Lotus King Weiss will meet with the applicant students and their parents in one-on-one fashion and explain the mission and education program to the student candidates and parents; admission will be based upon first come first serve principle; the admitted students and their parents will first meet with the entire team of Master Educators consisting of leading experts and scholars in the field of Modern Life Science, Modern Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Modern Western Medicine, Law, Western Philosophy and History, Chinese Language Arts, Chinese Martial Arts, Classical Chinese Dance, Chinese Music, Chess, Chinese Calligraphy, Painting and Poetry. Each student can choose one or more Master Educators as his or her primary Master, who will then be responsible for his or her individualized education program from K-12; each student will work closely with his or her Master(s) to develop the details of the curriculum tailored specifically for the student’s level and interest; all students will be offered standard lectures in listening, speaking, reading and writing of English and Chinese; all students are required to master both English and Chinese Language at our Charter School; open seminars will be given by Master Educators to all students in their area of expertise through out the school hours, at different levels, so that each student can choose, under the instruction of his or her primary Master, to receive the appropriate level teachings; science laboratories in the area of life science, computer science and Chinese Medicine will be established in the Charter School at the end of the first year, which will then be made available for all students. Besides mastering the knowledge of each specialized field offered by the Master Educators, each student will work closely with his or her primary Master in personal upgrading of their mind and heart nature; the ancient cultivation way of Falun Dafa will be offered to all students at the Charter School; seminars on all forms of righteous religions from both the West and from the East will be offered to all students; The classical Chinese Texts teaching human morality, such as Sanzijin (Three Character Sutra) and Dizigui (Disciplinary Guide to Disciples) will be offered to all students. When students graduate from our Charter School, they shall be young scholars in Chinese Language and Culture, and young scientists of life, besides meeting the standards required upon them by the State Education Department of New York. The innovation of the education approach is based upon seven years of education research carried out by Dr. Lotus King Weiss at the Flushing Community; such an approach shall overcome the current existing blockage existing in most, if not all public schools: outdated contents of textbooks in all main fields of sciences; lack of individualized guidance and teaching to maximize the power of the young learners, especially young children from immigrants’ family facing major challenges in a new culture and language; not recognizing the immense power of the five thousand years of traditional Chinese culture in early childhood education; not recognizing the critical importance in moral education, wisdom education and disciple education; the loss of the art of education in the format of Master-Disciple relationship. The Motto is our Charter School is: to awake the Master within each Child; our operational principle is: Trust-Love-Respect.

The site has been used previously for Charter Schools, which now are relocated due to expansion. The site has about thirty classrooms, a large commercial kitchen, a cafeteria, and a large auditorium. The lease holder is ready to help with all necessary renovation.

Target Population:

The Whole Elephant Chinese Charter School is open to all students within the selected school district CSD 25. However, the education model designed will greatly benefit the Chinese Immigrants' children who are facing academic failure due to the lack of English Language skills, and also children who have special interests in leaning Chinese Language and Culture, as well as children with special interests in learning both ancient and modern sciences.

法拉盛的妈妈们最大的梦想是让自己的孩子们在美国得到最好的教育。但是，妈妈们也常常觉得很无奈。因为她们不太会说英文，家长会时也不知该如何与校方交流。孩子在学校领回红牌，妈妈们就只能干着急。孩子英语成绩迟迟不能提高，妈妈们又只能省吃俭用将孩子送进五花八门的课后辅导班。应为不懂美国文化，妈妈们做人做事也不能堂堂正正，理直气壮，总有一种寄人篱下，离乡背井的消极心理。

美国的公立学校教育对中国孩子来说，如果不是因为语言的障碍，内容其实是很简单的。数理化教育落后中国国内的教育。对科学热衷的中国家长们看到孩子们学不到东西，也想办法送孩子们去各种补习班。总之，中国来的爸爸妈妈们，虽然对孩子们的未来在教育上很愿意投资，但在如何才能在美国培养好孩子们，确实是一个头痛的大问题。对于“成功的教育”，有些妈妈们也有辛酸的故事。辛辛苦苦，打工赚钱，为了孩子的教育，什么苦都吃了，什么罪都受了，孩子终于一口流利的英文，与“正宗”美国人一样的生活了，出人头地了，却再也无法和妈妈有任何共同语言了。妈妈的话，妈妈的心，妈妈的梦，孩子听不懂，看不见，为了功名一脚掉进了那浩浩荡荡的人间大染缸中。表面上的成功，是以妈妈彻底丢了孩子的孤苦为代价的。

中国人的孩子们在美国长大，大部分不再有中国传统文化的根了。在中国长大的孩子，因为是生活在共产党的体制下，中国传统文化是共产党的死敌，系统的洗脑让孩子们善恶好坏都很难分清，更谈不上真正的传统文化教育了。如此下去，中国传统文化在正规教育领域中是一个空白，无论是东方社会还是西方社会。

但是，越来越多的东西方父母们在近年来开始意识到中国传统文化教育对于孩子的未来的重要性。儒家，释家，道家，中国的五千年灿烂的文化，历史，礼仪，道德，科学，人文，医学，艺术，在现代社会的道德一日千里下滑的背景下，更显其珍贵无比，神通广大，博大精深。对于美国的中国移民们，真正的美国梦应该是让中国的传统文化在美国生根发芽，让在美国的世世代代，都在中国五千年文化的辉煌中滋养生息，在天人合一的理念下健康成长。对于美国的百姓，中国传统文化，是拯救经济文化医学法律政治科学的困境的最佳良药。

如何系统的将中国传统文化传到美国？公立教育系统，从幼稚园到高中，现存的公立中学或高中系统最多可以开始教中文，在公立小学还基本没有中文教育。若要美国教育部作出系统的将中国传统文化融入公立学校的主课中去，现在是不可能做到的。私立学校的教育，毕竟只为经济条件优越的孩子们提供，无法做到普及。

有幸的是，美国现在有一种学校，叫“特许学校”。和公立学校一样，特许学校的教育经费由联邦政府提供，有免税捐款平台，鼓励家长和社区的大力参与。和私立学校一样，特许学校的教材完全由建校团队自己来设计。只要特许学校的孩子们能成功的掌握州教育部要求的教育内容，在州考中成绩符合要求，特许学校就可以持续的得到联邦政府和州政府的教育经费。

全象中文特许学校将充分发挥特许学校的以上优势，扎根于纽约华人社区，系统的将中国传统文化融入到美国的中小学教育系统中，培养一流的双语人才。教育方法汇集中西方的精华：中国的“师父带徒弟”式和西方博士研究生院的“讲座研讨论文答辩”式。办校团队也汇集中西方专家学者和商人。全象中文特许学校肩负如下使命：

Confucius Chinese Charter Schools

Confucius is a great teacher in Chinese history. He devoted his entire life to education. The mission of Confucius in his education was to turn learners into true scholars who reach such a goal through “Cultivate the Mind, Harmonize the Family, Govern the Nation and Bring Peace and Prosperity to the World”( 修身 齐家 治国 平天下).

Therefore, the Confucius Chinese Charter School is based upon the philosophy of Confucius “Kindness, Loyalty, Etiquette, Wisdom and Faith”

( 仁 义 礼 智 信) and carries the mission of systematically introducing the authentic traditional Chinese Language and Culture to the young learners as the nutrients for the mind to prepare a new generation of bilingual experts who can play the role of inheriting the essence of traditional Chinese Culture, which is now considered by more and more people all over the world to be a precious gift to all of us in the modern world. To the new immigrant children from China, they have been facing major difficulties in entering the mainstream American Society due to language and culture barrier, poisonous influence of the communist mentality, as well as financial difficulties of the immigrant parents. Teachers in public schools are also facing difficulties in providing these children with sufficient help in assisting them to understand the American culture, history, government system and the law, which are essential for them to be an integral part of the local community. Under such a situation, more and more Chinese immigrant families are sending young children back to China to study the language and culture, although they were born here in America. When these children return to America, they usually are faced with emotional and mental issues and feel lost between the gaps of two different types of culture. The establishment of the Confucius Chinese Charter School (K-12) will allow these children to fully master the authentic traditional Chinese culture which will nurture their mind and allow them to embrace with full maturity the gift from the Western World. On the other hand, for the young learners with the Western culture as their native heritage, the mastering of Chinese Language and Culture will similarly expand their wisdom, enlarge their vision and enhance their ability in all aspects. This is because the Chinese Language and Culture are a precious gift to all world people and have the innate power to transform the mind and heart for people to live in a life style of Being One with the Nature ( 天人合一) a life style that is key for health and happiness. Therefore, the Confucius Chinese Charter School shall be a school for children from all ethnic groups and will surely bring peace and prosperity to our community and bring a new stream of fresh air into the American Education System. All Core Curricula of English, Math, Social Studies and Science shall be taught in Chinese and English, and all students shall be trained to be bilingual in English and Chinese and also become scholars of Chinese Language and Culture, as a special feature of the graduates of our Charter School.

We are now starting to seek for authorization from the DOE Charter School Office of New York State and preparing to open in September 2020, with an initial enrollment of 260 students from K-12, adding 10 students of each grade each coming year, with a final enrollment of 780 students in the year of 2025. 我院将带领以三大华人社区(法拉盛；唐人街；布鲁克林八大道)为基点的纽约市中文特许学校办学筹委会向纽约州SUNY董事会申请于2020年九月开设孔子中文特许学校。学区包括：法拉盛CSD25学区；唐人街CSD1学区；布鲁克林CSD20学区。计划2020年招生K-12共260人；以每年各个年级增加10个学生的方式，2025年将招生780人； 校址初步预定在法拉盛凯西那大道的自由犹太庙。  

孔子是中国古代伟大的思想家，他创立的儒家学派几千年来对中国乃至整个东方文化产生了巨大的影响。孔子一生孜孜不倦、苦苦追求。他的教育思想、人才理念、治学精神和为人师表都赢得了亘古不绝的赞誉。孔子将毕生精力贡献给了教育事业，他的思想学说和事迹，后来汇编成一本书，成为《论语》。

孔子教学的主要对象是士，他的教育理念就是要把士培养成为君子。孔子认为，君子所应具有的品格可分为两方面：对己能“修己”，对人能“安人”、“安百姓”。儒家的治学思想承传千百年，使无数的儒生获得了睿智，走过了修身、齐家、治国、平天下的人生阶梯。

The Lotus Chinese Charter School

School Overview:

Traditional Chinese Culture has profound inner contents with wisdoms for humanity to understand the truth of the universe, human body and life. Family is the CELL of human society. Mother plays a key role in maintaining the family health and harmony. Therefore, whether a young girl can grow up following the universal law set for woman determines whether she will fail or succeed in her life journey, therefore also determines the health and harmony of the family in which she becomes the Wife and the Mother, who directly lays the foundation for the opportunity or crisis of her future generations. Modern humankind is now walking on a path of self-destruction by living against the Dao of the universe, due to the brainwashing effects of the deviated notions under the covers of “Evolution”, “Atheism”, “Women’s Rights”, “Communism”, “Free Love”. The basic unit of the human society, Family, starts to break down, with men lacking Yang and women lacking Yin, Husband-Wife lacking appreciation and true Love-Trust-Respect, which is now replaced by the endless pursue for material comforts and the total let-go of physical lust and desire. For most people, family is only a name without any inner contents. Children’s proper education becomes impossible in such poor family environment. The current public school system fails to deliver the education of human morality and ethics to the school children, leading to frequent outbreaks of drug abuse, sexual misconducts, and even terrible violence in the public school campuses. Parents are deeply discouraged but also do not have any remedies for these conditions. How to fundamentally eradicate the cause of such a social disease so that human morality, family and therefore the entire human society will be healed? The Whole Elephant Institute Chinese Charter School team now has designed a new Chinese Charter School model, called the Lotus Chinese Charter School.

The Lotus Chinese Charter School shoulders the following mission:

“To bring forth the future Healers of Family through the delivering of an education system that tailors into the training of young girls to strengthen the feminine power of loving, nurturing, and healing through attaining inner spiritual beauty and wisdomand to recreate the Splendor of the Chinese Divine Culture here in America”

Besides delivering all core curricula required by the Department of Education of New York State for public schools, our school will deliver the five thousand years of traditional Chinese Culture, especially in the areas such as classical Chinese dance, music, calligraphy, painting, poetry, culinary art and Han Couture as the nutrients to the mind, body and spirit of our girls who will become unique talents who master the essence of the traditional Chinese culture, and the education will lay the foundation for the girls to become great Educators, Healers, Wives and Mothers who will spread the wonders of the traditional Chinese Culture to the future generations here in America and turn such a heritage into true treasures of every family.   

We will enroll 260 students from K-12 in 2020, with an additional 10 students each grade for each coming year, to reach a total enrollment of 780 students in the year of 2025.

East-West Clear Wisdom Charter School

Mission: To bring forth the future leaders of the world through the systematic education of the essence of both Eastern and Western Culture and the multilingual language programs including but not limited to: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish and Hebrew, to focus upon world leadership skills for the area of Health, Education, Business, Law and Media.

School Overview:Falun Dafa practitioners have successfully established many after-school education programs which help their children to be able to do the Falun Dafa exercises and to learn the principles of Falun Dafa cultivation way. They also use these programs to help their children to learn Chinese language and the 5000 years of Traditional Chinese Culture. These children, after they learn the practice of Falun Dafa, start to live under the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, and hand all forms of inter-personal conflicts under these principles. As a result of diligently cultivating their mind and heart nature through the practice of Falun Dafa, these children gain unique ability and insights in understanding the truth of the universe, time-space, human body and life. Due to the failure of the current public schools in the field of education of human morality and ethics to the children, the elevated moral qualities and outstanding behavior and disciplines exhibited among the Falun Dafa practitioners’ children are starting to be admired and respected by the oversea Chinese general public. The five sets of Falun Dafa exercises are easy to learn and are extremely beneficial to the health. It has been proven that children after practicing Falun Dafa exercises are more energetic, have better focus ability in their studies, and they experience tranquility and joy in their heart, and gain holistic health of mind-body-spirit. Professor Lili Feng from the Baylor School of Medicine carried out research using the most advanced life science research techniques to demonstrate drastic system-level enhancement of the human immunity towards bacteria and viruses, as well as anti-stress and anti-aging effects (www.thewholeelephant.info). Based upon these observations, the Whole Elephant Institute Chinese Charter School founding team decided to bring forth this education model to the children in New York City to allow more people to understand the beauty of Falun Dafa cultivation way. For the Chinese immigrants from the Communist China, such a school allows them to fully enjoy the freedom and democracy of the United States to be fear-free in embracing their own culture and tradition. Therefore, the Whole Elephant Institute Chinese Charter School team now designs the East-West Clear Wisdom Charter School. On this platform, the essence of the traditional culture from both the East and the West will be taught in conjunction with the usage of many forms of languages to allow people from all over the world to come together to learn the beauty of the 5000 years of traditional Chinese culture and to benefit from the profound cultivation way that connects both the East and the West culture, leading to the nurturing of a new generation of leaders in all future fields of Health, Education, Business, Law and Media. The education methods will be similar to the Whole Elephant Chinese Charter School, the Confucius Chinese Charter School and the Lotus Chinese Charter School model using the Master-Disciple education methods and individualized education program from K-12.

计划将于2020年9月正式开学, 第一年将招收260名学生, 从幼稚园到十二年级各10名; 以后每年增加10名, 到第五年将招收780名学生。
